Silver thrown ceramic lidded pot.
Thrown on the wheel in 2 pieces then allowed to dry. Box lids are fragile in their raw state, so they need a bisque firing to make them strong enough to glaze.
I then apply the glaze, which is painted on with several glazes and layered to create this beautiful subtle effect. It then gets fired to approx 1180deg c.
It has then had a coating of mother of pearl lustre applied and fired again to achieve this beautiful lustrous finish.
Its very tough, whilst still looking delicate.
Inner glaze is white and is food safe.
