handmade vase, carved ceramic vase with narrow neck finished in bronze glaze.
Made by hand. This piece has been thrown on the wheel.
When its leather hard I put it back on the wheel and turn it (trim) to refine the shape and then carved. Once Im happy with it its allowed to dry slowly over several days.
I apply the glazed by hand by painting it on using several colours of glaze layered over each other. It is then fired to 1240deg C making it extremely tough.
