handmade green vase, carved stoneware vase with multi tone glaze effect is made on the wheel and then carved by hand.
I start by throwing the vase on the wheel. Once hard enough I turn it over and trim the base.When its still leather hard I start carving. This takes several hours.
Once dry I apply the glaze, which in this case is upto 2 colours hand painted on the outside in several layers of each to get the 2 tone effect. Inside is glazed a dark blue.
It then gets fired to 1200 deg C making it extremely tough and waterproof.
